Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka became the first centurion of the Asia Cup 2025. He smashed reckless yet effortless sixes around the Dubai stadium while chasing 203 runs against India in a dead rubber match. Pathum scored 107 runs off just 58 balls and was in great touch throughout the tournament. Although Sri Lanka is out of the tournament and the race to the final, Nissanka truly entertained the crowd.

India, playing without Bumrah and Dube, had posted 202 runs with the bat. Sri Lanka lost their first wicket at just 7 runs when Mendis was dismissed for a duck. But Perera and Nissanka carried the innings and shifted the momentum toward Sri Lanka. They looked in a real hurry to change the chase strategy.

In the end, the match was tied off the last ball and went into a Super Over. Sri Lanka managed only 2 runs, and India clinched the game on the very first ball of their reply.

Pathum’s knock was a reminder of his class and temperament, even under pressure. His century may not have won the game, but it won the hearts of fans across the stadium.
